Guatemala Maragogype Elephant Bean

Our Guatemala Maragogype is a co-operatively grown and milled blend of 100% maragogype "Elephant" beans.

Maragogype coffee, named after their origin in Brazil, are one of the so-called ‘heirloom’ (older) varietals that were cultivated for flavour. Although Maragogype coffee bushes grow to very large sizes, their yield is comparatively low and may produce less than 1kg of green coffee a year.

Maragogype beans, are unique for their very large screen size and are often referred to as ‘Elephant Beans’.

This Guatemala Maragogype displays classic cup profiles of high acidity, bright citrus fruits with hints of white wine.
