Honduras SHG

Honduras Strictly High Grown (SHG) coffee is an excellent example of the quality of coffee produced in the small Central American country. Produced by the La Central de Cooperativas Cafeteleras de Honduras (CCCH) and grown at high altitudes, you can expect to find great balance and acidity with this coffee varietal, which is carefully managed by CCCH. The La Central Cooperatives were formed in 1997 with its primary objective to promote the development of rural communities through various coffee projects. Our importer has a direct relationship with the cooperative producers which allows greater resources to be channelled back to the farmers, avoiding the intermediate purses.

So what will you expect to find in the cup? Honduras SHG is a very well balanced coffee, suitable for both single estate drinking or as a base within our espresso blends. Its mild acidity and clean taste is a great balance against some our African coffees such as Kenya Blue Mountain and is worth cupping the two side by side. For those coffee drinkers who enjoy a cocoa aftertaste, Honduras SHG would be a great coffee for you to try.
