Nicaragua has had a turbulent time over recent history, with coffee cultivation being an area that was badly affected by Hurricane Mitch in 1998 and prior to that, war and political turmoil. However, the Nicaraguan farmers have adopted two approaches that suit their coffee very well to the gourmet and speciality coffee markets. Famers have pushed for certification by the Rainforest Alliance group and Fairtrade partnerships, where now, Nicaragua's premiere export is attaining good commodity prices for their excellent quality coffees.

Our Nicaragua Las Isla coffee is Rainforest Alliance Certified which further aides the development of its farms whilst protecting Las Isla's local habitats. This coffee can best be described as a classic cup that out performs other Central American high-grown coffees.

Nicaragua Las Isla coffee possesses good acidity, bright citrus notes with fruit aromas.
