Humber Bridge Christmas Market 2009

The Blending Room, along with 50 or so other local producers, will be attending this year’s Humber Bridge Christmas Famers Market. The market starts at 8am on Sunday 20th December 2009 and runs for three days until 22nd December.

The event itself will be a Victorian themed Christmas Fayre, where all stall holders will be dressed in traditional Victorian outfits! Various acts will be holding performances throughout the day including: stilt walkers and fire perfromances. There will be a traditional fair ground for family fun and not forgetting a Santa’s Grotto!

The Blending Room will be holding coffee and tea demonstrations throughout the day. These will include tasting sessions and talks on the best ways to create your perfect cup! We will be carrying over 25 varieties of freshly roasted, single estate coffee and more than 30 varieties of speciality leaf tea, so do take the opportunity to come and have a taste.

As we receive more information on the event, we shall use our blog to let you know all the details.

We hope to see you all soon at The Humber Bridge Christmas Fayre and Farmers Market.

Humber Bridge Farmers Market November 2009

The Humber Bridge November Farmers Market has come and gone and what a washout it was! From the moment we started to pack the car at 6am until when the farmers market closed at 1pm, it rained non stop! The rain was not our usual British autumn rain, more like sub-tropical monsoon rain and winds to match! For the six months Katie and I have been attending Hull, Beverley and East Yorkshire farmers markets, this has to be by far the most unpleasant weather we’ve had to endure!

We have to thank our loyal customers for stepping out into weather that most sane people (not saying our customers are insane, more hardy) would have spent the day inside in the comfort and warmth. We hope that come December’s Humber Bridge market, the weather will be a little less wild!

Over the next few weeks we shall be re-addressing the Yorkshire Blend coffee and hope to launch it at the December Humber Bridge Farmers Market. I shall keep you posted with this and other new products in the pipeline, such as our “Blending Boxes”, in the run up to Christmas.

A warm “thank you” once again to those who came to visit our stall at the farmers market and we look forward to seeing you again in December.

James & Katie

Humber Bridge October Market 2009

This Sunday (4th October 2009) will be the first time The Blending Room will be present at two markets on the same day! So far, it has been a logistical nightmare trying to organise family to help us run both the Humber Bridge monthly market and the Beverley Food Festival! None the less, we shall be doing our best to be as informative as ever when it comes to your beloved cup of coffee!

So, a little bit about the Humber Bridge monthly market. This event runs on the first Sunday of every month and is packed full of local producers from around East Yorkshire. It is an excellent way of cutting out the “middle man” and buying direct from the producers themselves. The market starts at 8:30am and continues until 1pm, so a pretty short day for us, which is a nice thing to have on a Sunday!

October’s Humber Bridge market, will only be the second that The Blending Room have attended, so do come along and support us there! An exciting development may be revealed on Sunday (a new blend added to our list), all we have to do is spend this evening coming up with our “Yorkshire Blend”. A strong coffee to match any “hardy Yorkshireman’s” taste buds.

We shall report on our “day of blending” in due course.
