Roaster's Notes

A washed Guatemalan coffee with sweet orange, juicy blackberry, and soft almond notes.

Story

Finca Relámpago sits on the slopes of Volcan Agua which is one of three volcanoes nestles around the beautiful town of Antigua.

Originally owned by Don Rafael, the farm was sold in 2024 to Los Volcanes Coffee. It’s now run by Josué Morales and farm manager Loyren Orozco.

“Relámpago,” meaning lightning, draws from the myth of Pegasus, symbolizing light, elevation, and transformation—values reflected in the farm’s careful practices, from plant shading to drying patios.

This lot is mainly bourbon, grown at 1,600 meters under gravilea and avocado trees. Harvest runs December to March, with a huge challenge being the availability of labour again this season. After picking, the coffee is processed at Beneficio La Esperanza in Antigua—depulped, fermented, washed, and patio dried.
